There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love - 1 John 4:18(ESV)
God is LOVE!
His PERFECT LOVE is not withheld from ANYONE ("For God so loved the world...").
But, whoever has FEAR prohibits themselves from fully understand or tasting the flavour of this love.
Where does fear come from?
FEAR finds its roots in even the slightest anticipation of PUNISHMENT.
Perfect love casts out fear - the more we open ourselves up to the mindset that God is a "punisher", the less accurate our revelation will be of His love for us, and thus, the less accurate our revelation of the TRUE GOSPEL and the FINISHED works of Christ will be.
LOVE does not punish!
LOVE cherishes what it has and yearns intensely for what is doesn't!
